The main focus of the paleo diet is to focus your food intake on unprocessed foods. It means they are more into lower carb diet like the keto diet. Well, it is because pasta, bread and a great number of what's in the main grocery stores are very high in sugars and carbohydrates.

It is due to the crazy thoughts in the 80s and 90s, that fat was something dangerous for your body and that eating fat made people fat and therefore removing fat out of foods and replacing it and adding in a lot of sugar or sugar substitute to enhance the flavour. Everything to make it taste good and not like cardboard.

In the paleo diet, they end up often with high-fat content food to stay full and keep things tasty, but they really don't have to be.
