Okay, so it's really simple. You can do this every single year. Luscious and incredibly delicious, expect this homemade keto eggnog to differ little from the traditional holiday classic! To kick off the holiday cheer I’ve got one of our favorites: a ridiculously creamy and velvety sugar-free keto eggnog.
And if you’re anything like me, its taste will be enough to swoon you back to Christmas past. And definitely not in an Ebenezer Scrooge sort of way!
The fact is, this custard-based drink is thought to be around since the late 1600s. And whether you enjoy it warm or chilled, spiked or virgin, creamy or frothy, this keto recipe will cover all your bases.
This is how you make the best keto-friendly eggnog 2021
- 2 Cups Heavy Cream
- 1 Cup Full-Fat Coconut milk
- 4 Large Eggs
- 3 TBS Xylitol (or Swerve)
- 1 Tsp Vanilla
- 2 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1 Tsp Allspice
Very simply two cups heavy cream make sure it's grass-fed one cup of coconut milk. Just keep in mind that this version is slightly more prone to scrambling, so you’ll want to add in the warm coconut milk very slowly as to not scramble the eggs!
Very important, be sure to remove it from heat before it begins to simmer. Four large eggs make sure it's pasture-raised not pasteurized.
Unless you're concerned about having some type of Salmonella which is so rare normally not going to happen if you have a higher quality egg you can consume raw eggs.
Three tablespoons of xylitol. I like xylitol some people are concerned with the glycemic index. It's not high but it is a little bit if you're concerned about that add something like swerve or we through tall or even in maybe ten drops of stevia you can experiment.
One teaspoon vanilla two teaspoons cinnamon and 1 teaspoon of allspice then blend it up and you have some seriously delicious eggnog. And yes I know you're probably saying well, "where's the alcohol right"? well, it is totally optional… but then again, highly suggested!
I recommend you either go for a dark rum or bourbon. Both nil carbs and great pairings.
